The growing number of Java users and enthusiasts in the Philippines band together to form the first group of Javanauts in Asia. To be officially called the Philippine Java Users Group (PhilJUG), the initiative to form the organization came from members of the Philippine Systems and Products Inc., (PSPI) and Mr. Ramon Canumay of Web Philippines, Inc. "The group is basically aimed for web developers to learn more about Java, to show them how Java can help them in their respective organizations," Cynthia Marie T. Goco of PSPI told BusinessWorld.
